After more than two decades in clinical medicine, including years as a nurse practitioner in gastroenterology and pain management, Denise had a vision: a place where medical-grade care and heartfelt hospitality come together under one roof. Five years ago, she made that vision a reality alongside her daughter, Whitney Sampsell, a talented Certified Aesthetician and the clinic's Practice Manager, whose eye for beauty and passion for skincare make her an irreplaceable part of everything The Refinery is. Behind the scenes and always in her corner is her husband, Dr. Ward Neff, M.D. — a board-certified Internal Medicine physician whose expertise and steadfast support give the practice an added layer of medical depth and collaboration. Together, this family team has built The Refinery into a trusted destination in Newburgh where patients come for GLP-1 weight management, peptide therapy, aesthetic skincare, aesthetic injectables, non invasive body contouring, laser services, and so much more — and our clients keep coming back because they feel truly cared for. Emily Stone brings a decade of beauty industry experience to her role at The Refinery — and she'll tell you she's found exactly where she belongs. As the warm first face clients encounter, Emily sets the tone for every visit, making each person feel welcome, seen, and cared for from the moment they arrive. She is passionate about creating an exceptional experience for every guest she serves. When she's not at the spa, Emily can be found staying active, diving into a creative project, or spending quality time with her husband and two boys — a life full of the same energy and warmth she brings to work every day.

Tara Carrero is a registered nurse and highly skilled aesthetic injector with 16 years of experience dedicated to helping clients look and feel their most confident. Specializing in neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and biostimulators, Tara is known for the artistry and precision she brings to every treatment — always with a gentle, reassuring touch. Her approach is rooted in a deep understanding that great aesthetic results are both a science and an art, and she takes pride in crafting a fully personalized plan for each individual. With 34 years of nursing experience spanning critical care, neurology, cardiology, and nursing leadership, Sheileia Thomas brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and a heartfelt commitment to patient wellness to The Refinery. Having served as a Director of Nursing, she understands the importance of evidence-based, compassionate care — and she channels that expertise into helping clients achieve meaningful, lasting results in weight loss and overall wellness. Her approach is always safe, personalized, and rooted in a genuine desire to see each client thrive. Outside of the clinic, Sheileia is an avid traveler and natural connector who finds joy in building real relationships — values that show up in every patient interaction.

Whitney Sampsell is a licensed aesthetician and graduate of The Salon Professional Academy (TSPA) in Evansville, Indiana, and a proud co-creator and co-owner of The Refinery Medical Spa & Wellness Clinic. As Practice Manager, Whitney oversees the day-to-day operations and human resources for both The Refinery and Neff Health, bringing an exceptional combination of organizational talent, warm interpersonal presence, and business acumen to everything she does. She is the driving force behind The Refinery's signature events and a key contributor to its continued growth. Whitney's deep passion for skincare and aesthetic medicine keeps her at the forefront of the industry, and her genuine commitment to each client's journey ensures that everyone who walks through the door receives results they love.

Morgan Scott is a certified aesthetician whose medical background sets her apart in the treatment room. With specialized expertise in skin health, laser treatments, and rejuvenation therapies, Morgan brings a clinical eye and an artist's touch to every service — addressing concerns from acne and pigmentation to aging and sensitivity across all skin types.
